Comparison review
The Galaxy S8 Active is slightly better than Xperia XZ2, with a overall score of 81.9 against 79.1. The Galaxy S8 Active design is a little heavier but somewhat thinner than Xperia XZ2, and both were released only a couple of months apart. The Xperia XZ2 features a little faster processor than Galaxy S8 Active. They have the same RAM amount and a Octa-Core CPU.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active counts with a little sharper screen than Xperia XZ2, because it has a bit larger display, a better screen pixel density and a higher 1440 x 2960 pixels resolution. Xperia XZ2 captures slightly better photos and videos than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a tinier camera aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with higher video frame rates, a way better resolution back-facing camera and a bigger back camera sensor which gives a higher image and video quality.
Sony Xperia XZ2 features just a bit more memory capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage, the Sony Xperia XZ2 also has a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 400 GB. Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features superior battery performance than Xperia XZ2, because it has a 26% greater battery capacity.
