Comparison review
The Huawei Mate X is much better than the Sony Xperia XZ3, getting an 89.4 score against 79.6. Huawei Mate X's design is newer, but much heavier and a little bit thicker than the Sony Xperia XZ3. Both devices in this review have the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (operating system), so you shouldn't notice any difference regarding that.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 counts with a more vivid screen than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a really smaller screen and a bit worse resolution of 1440 x 2880px, it also counts with a higher pixel density. Huawei Mate X has a much greater storage for games and applications than Xperia XZ3, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory.
Huawei Mate X's processor is very similar to Sony Xperia XZ3's processor, and although the Huawei Mate X has a larger amount of RAM, they both have 8 cores. The Huawei Mate X features superior battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ3, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity. Xperia XZ3 captures better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate X, although it has a much tinier sensor which offers a lot lower photo and video quality, a lot less mega pixels resolution back facing camera and a tinier diafragm aperture.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Sony Xperia XZ3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia XZ3. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Huawei Mate X, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Sony Xperia XZ3, giving up some features and specifications.
