Comparison review
The Sony Xperia XZ3 has an overall score of 79.6, which is a bit better than the Huawei P30 Lite's 77 overall score. These phones include the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (operating system), so they should provide the user identical operating system features. Sony Xperia XZ3 is a much thicker and somewhat heavier cellphone than Huawei P30 Lite.
The Xperia XZ3 has a brighter screen than Huawei P30 Lite, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better screen density and a better resolution of 1440 x 2880. The Huawei P30 Lite has a much greater memory for games and applications than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 512 GB, the Huawei P30 Lite also has more internal storage.
Xperia XZ3 counts with a little faster processor than Huawei P30 Lite. Both have 4 GB of RAM and 8 CPU cores. Xperia XZ3 captures much clearer photos and videos than Huawei P30 Lite, because although it has a smaller camera sensor, a way lower resolution camera and a tinier diafragm aperture which is not good for low light captures, it also counts with a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution.
Huawei P30 Lite counts with a battery duration that is just as good as Xperia XZ3's battery duration, although the Huawei P30 Lite also has a 0 percent larger battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Huawei P30 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Huawei P30 Lite. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Huawei P30 Lite, giving up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
