Comparison review
The Xperia XZ3 is a little bit better than the Galaxy S7 edge, having a 79.6 score against 78.1. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (operating system), but Xperia XZ3 has 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy S7 edge has Android 8.0 Oreo version. The Xperia XZ3 body is newer, but much thicker and somewhat heavier than Galaxy S7 edge.
The Xperia XZ3 features just a bit better performance than Galaxy S7 edge, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM, the Xperia XZ3 also has a larger number of cores (and they are faster). Xperia XZ3 has a bit better display than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a just a little greater count of pixels per inch of screen, a little bit bigger screen and a bit higher 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution.
Sony Xperia XZ3 counts with a much bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a SD memory slot that admits up to 512 GB and more internal memory. The Galaxy S7 edge features a little longer battery lifetime than Xperia XZ3, because it has an 8% more battery size.
The Xperia XZ3 takes a little bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a bigger back camera sensor which gives a higher image and video quality and a back-facing camera with way more megapixels.
Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy S7 edge, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S7 edge. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Galaxy S7 edge, giving up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
