The Sony Xperia XZ3 has an overall score of 79.6, which is slightly better than Xperia Z5's global score of 77.6. Both phones in our current comparison work with Android OS (operating system), but Sony Xperia XZ3 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1 version, providing a couple additional features and optimized performance. Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is incredibly newer than the Xperia Z5, it's incredibly thicker and incredibly heavier.

The Xperia XZ3 counts with a bit better processing power than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, and they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a higher amount of RAM. Xperia XZ3 has a bit more vivid screen than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a larger display, a lot higher resolution of 1440 x 2880 and a higher pixels count in each screen inch.

Sony Xperia XZ3 features a superior storage to store more games and applications than Xperia Z5, because it has more internal storage capacity and an external SD slot that supports up to 512 GB. The Sony Xperia Z5 shoots clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution, a 0.43 inches sensor and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z5 also has a camera in the back with more MP and a larger aperture.

The Xperia XZ3 has a bit superior battery life than Xperia Z5, because it has a 3330mAh battery size instead of 2900mAh.

Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Sony Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia Z5. If you want to save some money, you can buy the Sony Xperia Z5, letting go a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
