The Xiaomi Mi 8 has a global score of 83.3, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia XZ3's 79.6 general score. Both of these devices include Android OS (operating system), but the Xiaomi Mi 8 has older 10 version and Sony Xperia XZ3 has Android 9.0 Pie version. Xiaomi Mi 8's design is a lot thinner and just a little lighter than Sony Xperia XZ3, although both of them were released only a couple months apart.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 has a bit better processor than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Sony Xperia XZ3 features just a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has a quite opaque display and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a better number of pixels per inch of display and a higher 1440 x 2880 resolution.

The Xperia XZ3 captures a bit better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi 8, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not so good for taking pictures or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same video quality and the same video frame rate, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a back facing camera with lot more megapixels and a bigger sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
