Motorola Moto Z3 is a bit better than Sony Xperia Z2a, getting a global score of 77.6 against 73. The Motorola Moto Z3 is a incredibly thinner and just a bit lighter phone than the Sony Xperia Z2a. These phones have Android operating system, but the Motorola Moto Z3 has newer 9.0 Pie version and Sony Xperia Z2a has Android 4.4.2 version, giving some nice extra features and performance optimizations.
Xperia Z2a has a better looking display than Moto Z3, because although it has a little lower 1920 x 1080 resolution and a quite smaller display, it also counts with a bit greater count of pixels in each screen inch. The Motorola Moto Z3 features just a bit better hardware performance than Sony Xperia Z2a, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processor, it also counts with a larger number of faster cores and 1 GB more RAM.
Motorola Moto Z3 features a much greater storage capacity for apps and games than Sony Xperia Z2a, because it has 64 GB internal memory and a SD card slot that holds up to 1,95 TB. Sony Xperia Z2a and Moto Z3 have extremely similar battery performance. The Moto Z3 has a bit better camera than Sony Xperia Z2a, although it has a lot less MP back camera, a worse (4K) video resolution and a way smaller back camera sensor shooting much worse quality photos.
Moto Z3 costs more money than Sony Xperia Z2a, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
