Xperia Z5 Premium is a little bit better than the OnePlus 8, with a score of 79.8 against 76. The Xperia Z5 Premium has the same thickness and weight than OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 counts with a little better hardware performance than Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has doesn't have an extra GPU, and they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 8 also counts with more RAM.

Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a much better screen than OnePlus 8, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a lot better display density and a much better resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The OnePlus 8 has a better camera than Xperia Z5 Premium, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same camera aperture, the OnePlus 8 also has a camera with a lot better resolution, a larger back-facing camera sensor providing a better image quality and faster video frame rate.

The OnePlus 8 features a better storage to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory. The OnePlus 8 has greater battery lifetime than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity instead of 3430mAh.

Although Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as OnePlus 8. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Xperia Z5 Premium, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the OnePlus 8, letting go some specifications.
