These phones work with Android OS (operating system), but Xperia Z5 Premium has older 5.1 version while Xperia XZ3 has Android 9.0 Pie.

Sony Xperia XZ3 has a bit superior processor than Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also counts with 1 GB more RAM memory. The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a much better screen than Xperia XZ3, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a higher number of pixels per screen inch and a way higher resolution of 3840 x 2160px.

The Xperia XZ3 features a lot bigger memory to install games and applications than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 512 GB and 32 GB more internal storage capacity. Xperia Z5 Premium has just a bit longer battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ3, because it has a 3 percent larger battery capacity.

The Xperia Z5 Premium captures just a bit better pictures and videos than Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution, a same size sensor and the same video frame rates, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a better 23 mega pixels resolution camera in the back and a bigger camera aperture.
