The Motorola Moto Z4 has a global score of 79.8, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia Z5's global score of 77.6. Motorola Moto Z4 is a a bit heavier device than Sony Xperia Z5, but both have the same thickness. These devices include Android operating system, but Motorola Moto Z4 has the newer 10 version and Sony Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1 version.

The Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a better looking display than Moto Z4, because although it has a little bit smaller screen and a little lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, it also counts with a little higher screen pixel density. The Motorola Moto Z4 counts with a much better memory for apps and games than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a SD extension slot that admits up to 512 GB and 128 GB internal storage capacity.

The Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a little better hardware performance than Motorola Moto Z4, because although it has less RAM, and they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with an additional GPU. The Motorola Moto Z4 shoots a bit better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia Z5, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Motorola Moto Z4 also has a bigger back camera sensor, a bigger diafragm aperture to take better captures and video in low-light environments and a camera with lot more MP.

Moto Z4 has improved battery performance than Xperia Z5, because it has 3600mAh of battery capacity instead of 2900mAh.

Although Motorola Moto Z4 is a better device, it is more expensive than the Sony Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Sony Xperia Z5. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Motorola Moto Z4, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Sony Xperia Z5, giving up some specifications.
