Galaxy A8 Star has a general score of 82.1, which is a little bit better than Xiaomi 12X's overall score of 77.8. Both phones in this review include Android OS, but the Galaxy A8 Star has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi 12X has Android 11 version, so it offers lots of additional features and enhanced performance. The Galaxy A8 Star is a notably older and just a bit heavier cellphone than the Xiaomi 12X, but Samsung was able to make it a bit thinner anyway.
Xiaomi 12X features a sharper display than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Xiaomi 12X also has a quite better count of pixels in each display inch and a slightly better 1080 x 2400 resolution. Galaxy A8 Star has a lot better hardware performance than Xiaomi 12X, although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
Xiaomi 12X takes better photos and videos than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not good for taking photos and videos in poorly lited environments, it also counts with a way more mega-pixels back-facing camera and a much better 7680x4320 video definition. The Galaxy A8 Star has more memory capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi 12X, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 400 GB.
Xiaomi 12X has better battery lifetime than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity against 3700mAh.
