Comparison review
Huawei Mate 20 is a little bit better than Xiaomi Mi 5s, getting a overall score of 79.5 against 76.4. Huawei Mate 20's design is a lot newer, but a bit thicker and heavier than Xiaomi Mi 5s. Both of these phones work with Android OS, but the Huawei Mate 20 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Mi 5s has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, giving some additional features.
Huawei Mate 20 and Xiaomi Mi 5s both feature similar screens, because although the Huawei Mate 20 has a little lower pixel density, it also counts with a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels, more brightness and a bigger display. Huawei Mate 20 features just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM, the Huawei Mate 20 also has a higher number of cores (and they are faster).
Huawei Mate 20 shoots just a bit better videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have the same video frame rates, the same back-facing camera sensor size, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a camera in the back with a 12 mega-pixels resolution, the Huawei Mate 20 also has a bigger aperture for better captures in low light environments.
Huawei Mate 20 counts with as much memory to store more games and applications as Xiaomi Mi 5s, both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory capacity. Huawei Mate 20 features superior battery performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has a 4000mAh battery size.
Although Huawei Mate 20 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Mi 5s. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 20, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Xiaomi Mi 5s, giving up some features and specs.
