Comparison review
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an overall score of 78.7, which is a little bit better than Xiaomi Mi 5s's overall score of 76.4. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's body is a bit thinner but somewhat heavier than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and they were released with only a few months difference. Both of these phones use Android OS, but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has newer 8.0 Oreo version while Xiaomi Mi 5s has Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a bit faster processing unit than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has 2 GB more RAM memory and 4 more CPU cores. Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a screen that's just as good as the Xiaomi Mi 5s one, although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a greater pixel number per screen inch, a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a bit larger screen.
Xiaomi Mi 5s features a bit better camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a back-facing camera with a 12 megapixels and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Xiaomi Mi 5s also has a larger aperture to take better low light captures and videos and a way larger sensor.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 5s feature really similar storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos, they have exactly the same internal memory capacity. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has superior battery life than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has a 25 percent bigger battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Mi 5s. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy Xiaomi Mi 5s, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your money.
