The Microsoft Surface Duo has a score of 78.8, which is a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi 5s's 76.4 global score. Microsoft Surface Duo is a noticeably newer and much thinner device than Xiaomi Mi 5s, although it is heavier. Both phones in this comparison work with Android OS, but Microsoft Surface Duo has an older 10 version while Xiaomi Mi 5s has Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Microsoft Surface Duo counts with a bit better performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has 4 more cores and a higher amount of RAM memory. Xiaomi Mi 5s counts with a slightly better screen than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has a way worse resolution of 1080 x 1920px and a much smaller screen, it also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch of display.
The Microsoft Surface Duo's memory for games and applications is very similar to Xiaomi Mi 5s's one, they have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory. Xiaomi Mi 5s takes clearer videos and photos than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has worse video frame rates, and they both have a F2 camera aperture and the same video resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 5s also counts with a better 12 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera.
Microsoft Surface Duo features just a bit longer battery lifetime than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has a 12 percent larger battery capacity.
Although Microsoft Surface Duo is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Mi 5s. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Microsoft Surface Duo, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Mi 5s, letting go a couple features and specs.
