Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is a little bit better than Xperia 5, with an 83.2 score against 81. Even though Xiaomi Mi 9 and the Xperia 5 were only released with a few months difference, Xiaomi Mi 9's design is a little bit heavier but also a little bit thinner. Xiaomi Mi 9 has a little more vivid screen than Xperia 5, because although it has a little bit worse display pixels density and a little worse resolution of 1080 x 2340px, it also counts with a little larger screen.
The Xperia 5 counts with much more storage capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 9, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage, the Xperia 5 also has a SD extension slot that admits up to 512 GB. The Sony Xperia 5 features a CPU that is just as good as Xiaomi Mi 9's CPU, both have 8 cores and a 6 GB RAM memory.
Xiaomi Mi 9 counts with a greater camera than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for taking photos or videos in low-light environments, and they both have the same video definition, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also counts with faster 60 frames per second video frame rate, a camera in the back with a way better resolution and a much bigger back camera sensor providing a way higher image quality.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 features a little longer battery performance than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 3300mAh battery size.
