Comparison review
The Xperia 5 has a score of 81, which is a bit better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2's overall score of 77.5. The Xperia 5 construction is a lot newer and way lighter, but a little thicker than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Sony Xperia 5 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Sony Xperia 5 also has a greater amount of RAM.
The Xperia 5 has just a bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better display pixels density and a slightly better 1080 x 2520 resolution. The Xperia 5 takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same video definition, a same resolution back camera and the same video frame rates, the Xperia 5 also has a way bigger aperture and a larger sensor.
Xperia 5 has a quite bigger storage for applications and games than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Xperia 5 also has a slot for SD memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a much better battery life than Sony Xperia 5, because it has 5300mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xperia 5, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, resigning a couple specs and features.
