Comparison review
Sony Xperia XZ1 has a general score of 78.3, which is a bit better than Xiaomi Mi Max 2's overall score of 77.5. Even when Sony Xperia XZ1 and the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 were released only a couple of months apart, Sony Xperia XZ1 is way lighter and a bit thinner. The Xperia XZ1 features just a little better performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Both have 4 GB of RAM and the same number of cores.
Xperia XZ1 features a bit sharper display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a bit higher pixel quantity in each display inch. The Xperia XZ1 shoots slightly better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Xperia XZ1 also has a bigger camera aperture to take better low light captures and videos, a lot bigger camera sensor and a back facing camera with a way higher resolution.
Sony Xperia XZ1 features more memory capacity to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that holds up to 1,95 TB. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a much better battery duration than Xperia XZ1, because it has 5300mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Xperia XZ1, else you can save some money and buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, giving up some features and specs.
