Comparison review
The Xperia XZ3 is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3, with a general score of 79.6 against 74.9. Even though Xperia XZ3 and the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 were released only a few months apart, the Xperia XZ3 body is somewhat lighter but also a lot thicker than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. Both phones we are comparing here use Android OS (Operating System), but Xperia XZ3 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has Android 8.1 Oreo version.
Xperia XZ3 counts with a brighter display than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels and a much greater pixels count per inch in the display. Xperia XZ3 counts with a little bit better performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 3. They have a 4 GB RAM memory and 8 cpu cores.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 features a bit more memory for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 counts with a much longer battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ3, because it has a 5500mAh battery size instead of 3330mAh.
The Xperia XZ3 counts with a little bit better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not favorable for taking images and video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video definition, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a larger camera sensor shooting higher quality videos and pictures and a lot more mega pixels back-facing camera.
