Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3, getting a overall score of 76.4 against 74.9. Both of these phones include Android OS, but Xiaomi Mi 5s has the older 6.0 Marshmallow version while Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has Android 8.1 Oreo. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is an older and a little thicker cellphone than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3, but Xiaomi was able to make it extremely lighter anyway.
Xiaomi Mi 5s features a much better screen than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, because although it has a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 1920px and a way smaller display, it also counts with a just a little higher pixel amount per inch of screen. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features just a bit more storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because although it has 0 less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that allows up to 256 GB.
Xiaomi Mi 5s counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 3, although it has an inferior number of cores , they both have a 4 GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and the Xiaomi Mi 5s feature similar cameras, because although the Xiaomi Mi 5s has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same video frame rates, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a 12 megapixels resolution back facing camera, it also counts with a bigger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a superior battery life than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has 5500mAh of battery capacity against 3200mAh.
