Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi Max has a global score of 77.5, which is slightly better than OnePlus 8's global score of 76. The Xiaomi Mi Max is a older and somewhat heavier cellphone than OnePlus 8, but Xiaomi managed to build it a little thinner anyway. OnePlus 8 counts with just a bit better processing power than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have 8 cores, the OnePlus 8 also has more RAM.
OnePlus 8 features a better screen than Xiaomi Mi Max, because it has a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a little bit better display density and a little bigger display. The Xiaomi Mi Max has a much bigger storage for apps and games than OnePlus 8, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Xiaomi Mi Max also has a SD extension slot that supports up to 256 GB.
The Xiaomi Mi Max features just a little better battery duration than OnePlus 8, because it has a 4850mAh battery size. OnePlus 8 takes a lot better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 also has a camera with way more mega pixels, higher video frame rates and a larger camera aperture to take better photos in poorly lited environments.
