Comparison review
The Sony Xperia 5 is just a bit better than Xiaomi Mi Max, getting an 81 score against 77.5. The Sony Xperia 5 design is way newer and lighter than the Xiaomi Mi Max's, although it's also a little bit thicker. The Sony Xperia 5 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia 5 also has more RAM memory.
Xperia 5 counts with a little sharper screen than Xiaomi Mi Max, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2520px and a higher number of pixels per display inch. The Sony Xperia 5 has a bit bigger memory for apps and games than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia 5 also has a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 512 GB.
The Xperia 5 captures a bit better photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Max, because although it has a lot lower 12 MP resolution back facing camera and a worse 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, it also counts with a larger aperture for better low light photos. The Xiaomi Mi Max features a much better battery performance than Sony Xperia 5, because it has 4850mAh of battery capacity.
