Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, having an 89 score against 82.1. Both devices in this review come with Android OS, but the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has older 11 version while Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has Android 9.0 Pie version. Xiaomi Mi Mix 4's body is extremely newer than the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star's, but it is heavier and just a little thicker.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 also has a larger amount of RAM. Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has a little sharper display than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a bit more pixels per inch in the screen and a bit bigger display.

The Galaxy A8 Star features more storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 400 GB. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 features better battery lifetime than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 counts with a lot better camera than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller aperture, it also counts with a much better video resolution, a lot bigger sensor shooting lot better quality videos and pictures and a back camera with much more mega-pixels.
