Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, having an 82.1 score against 75.8. Both of these phones have Android OS, but the Galaxy A8 Star has newer 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version, providing you lots of additional features and some performance improvements. Although the Galaxy A8 Star and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro were released only 6 months apart, Galaxy A8 Star's design is a little heavier but a little thinner.
Galaxy A8 Star features a little better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Both have the same number of cores and a 6 GB RAM memory.
