Xperia XZ3 is slightly better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, with a 79.6 score against 74.4. Both phones we are comparing here include Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia XZ3 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat, so it provides the user a couple nice extra features and improved performance. Even being the best in this review, the Xperia XZ3 is a thicker and a little bit heavier phone than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.

The Xperia XZ3 counts with a better screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have a same size display, the Xperia XZ3 also has a greater pixel count in each inch in the screen and a better 1440 x 2880 resolution.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 features more storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also has an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB. The Xperia XZ3 shoots better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because it has a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, a way higher 19 mega-pixels resolution back camera and a larger aperture.
