Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, having a global score of 78.7 against 74.6. Although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro is noticeably older than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, it's body is somewhat lighter and a little bit thinner. Both phones we compare here have Android OS, but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px and a higher display density. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a much better memory capacity to store more games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with more internal storage.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a bit faster processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has more RAM memory. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and the Huawei Mate 9 Pro feature incredibly similar battery performance. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 takes better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a lot bigger sensor taking much higher quality videos and photographs, a bigger aperture for better low-light photos and video and a back camera with lot more mega pixels.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
