Comparison review

LG G5 is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, having a score of 76.1 against 74.6. Although LG G5 is noticeably older than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, it's construction is somewhat lighter and somewhat thinner. Both devices in this review come with Android operating system, but the LG G5 has a more recent 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10 version, so it provides lots of additional features and performance optimizations.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has a bit faster processing unit than LG G5, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with 4 more CPU cores (although they are slower). The LG G5 features a little bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher screen pixel density and a higher 1440 x 2560px resolution.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 captures much clearer pictures and videos than LG G5, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the same camera aperture and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a back facing camera with much more mega pixels and a way bigger sensor providing a much higher image quality.

LG G5 counts with a superior memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the LG G5 also has an external memory card slot that admits up to 1,95 TB. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has a much better battery lifetime than LG G5, because it has a 4000mAh battery size against 2800mAh.

Although LG G5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, letting go some specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
