Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a score of 76.3, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's global score of 74.6. Both phones in our current comparison work with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Alpha has 4.4.4 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10, giving you some extra features and increased performance. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is a thinner and a lot lighter device than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha features a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has less RAM memory and an inferior number of cores (although faster), it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit. Galaxy Alpha has a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, although it has a little bit lower display density, a really smaller screen and a lot worse resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features much more memory capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 32 GB internal memory capacity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 128 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 captures much clearer photos and videos than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a lot more megapixels camera in the back and a larger camera aperture for better captures and video in low-light environments.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 1860mAh.
Although Galaxy Alpha is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, giving up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
