Comparison review
Galaxy S7 edge is slightly better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, having a 78.1 score against 74.6. Both of these devices come with Android operating system, but Galaxy S7 edge has newer 8.0 Oreo version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10 version, providing you some nice extra features and performance enhancements. Even though the Galaxy S7 edge is much older than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, it's construction is somewhat lighter and just a little bit thinner.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 counts with a little bit better performance than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a greater number of cores (although slower). Samsung Galaxy S7 edge counts with a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a higher resolution of 1440 x 2560px and more pixels per inch in the screen.
Samsung Galaxy S7 edge features a little bit more storage to install games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have the same 32 GB internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge also has an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 200 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has a little longer battery duration than Galaxy S7 edge, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 3600mAh.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 captures much clearer pictures and videos than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also counts with a larger camera sensor and a lot higher resolution back-facing camera.
Although Galaxy S7 edge is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your money.
