Comparison review

The Galaxy Z Flip has an overall score of 88.5, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's 74.6 score. Both devices in this review work with Android OS, but Galaxy Z Flip has a newer 12 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10, providing a couple nice extra features and some performance improvements. Even when the Galaxy Z Flip and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 were only released with a couple months difference, the Galaxy Z Flip is a bit lighter and somewhat thinner.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip counts with a bit superior processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip also has more RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip features just a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2636px, a just a bit greater pixel number per display inch and a little bit larger screen.

Galaxy Z Flip features a superior storage for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 224 GB more internal storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 counts with a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, because although it has slower video frame rates, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and a F1.8 diafragm aperture, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also counts with a much higher resolution camera in the back and a lot larger back-facing camera sensor.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features superior battery duration than Galaxy Z Flip, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3300mAh.

Although Galaxy Z Flip is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy Z Flip, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, giving up some specifications.
