Comparison review
Xperia 1 is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, getting a general score of 82.6 against 74.6. Xperia 1 is a a bit lighter and just a little bit thinner cellphone than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, even when they were released only 5 months apart. Xperia 1 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia 1 also has 3 GB more RAM.
The Sony Xperia 1 has a sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution, a lot higher screen density and a little larger screen. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 shoots much better photographs and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same video definition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also counts with a way more mega-pixels back-facing camera, higher video frame rate and a much bigger back camera sensor which provides a way better image and video quality.
The Sony Xperia 1 features a lot bigger memory to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has more internal memory capacity and an external memory slot that supports up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features improved battery duration than Sony Xperia 1, because it has a 20 percent larger battery size.
Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, resigning some features and specs.
