Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 5 II has an overall score of 87.2, which is better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's 74.6 global score. The Sony Xperia 5 II design is newer, a little bit thinner and somewhat lighter than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. The Sony Xperia 5 II counts with a bit more vivid display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher 1080 x 2520px resolution and a little bit better number of pixels in each inch in the screen.

Xperia 5 II has a much bigger memory capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 1000 GB and 128 GB internal storage capacity. The Xperia 5 II counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 II also has a greater amount of RAM memory.

Xperia 5 II features a battery performance that is very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 one. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features a little bit better camera than Xperia 5 II, because although it has worse video frame rate, a smaller camera aperture which is not recommended for capturing photographs and/or video in low light environments and a tinier sensor, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also counts with a lot higher resolution back camera.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you prefer to save some money, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
