Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, having an 81.4 score against 74.6. Although Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 were only released 6 months apart, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is lighter and somewhat thinner. These devices include Android OS, but Xiaomi Mi 9 SE has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10 version, counting with a couple nice extra features.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE features a bit superior processing unit than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE also has more RAM. Xiaomi Mi 9 SE counts with a slightly better looking display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 1080 x 2340 resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE also counts with a just a little higher screen density.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE counts with a much bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 counts with better battery life than Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, because it has a 30% more battery size.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE shoots just a bit better photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. They have the same back-facing camera sensor size, the same 3840x2160 video definition, the same resolution camera in the back, the same aperture and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates.
