Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has an overall score of 81.2, which is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's global score of 74.6. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is an noticeably older phone than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, but Xiaomi managed to build it just a little bit lighter and a bit thinner anyway. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has just a little better processing power than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 also has a larger amount of RAM.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 counts with a screen that is just as good as the screen in Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, although the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2160px, a just a bit inferior pixel number per inch of screen and a little bit smaller display. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features much more storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 shoots better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a lot more mega-pixels camera in the back, a larger aperture to take better captures and video in poorly lited situations and a lot larger back camera sensor which offers a lot higher image and video quality.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features longer battery life than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3400mAh.
Although Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your money.
