Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has a general score of 83.8, which is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's score of 74.6. Although Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is older than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, it's design is a little bit lighter and a bit thinner. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has a bit faster CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s both feature similar displays, although the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has a little lower resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, a quite lower pixel density and a quite smaller display. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has a much greater storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal memory.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 shoots much better videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, and although they both have a same size aperture, the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video definition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a back facing camera with a way better resolution and a way larger camera sensor which provides a much better image and video quality.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features better battery life than Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your money.
