Comparison review
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a general score of 76, which is a bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's 74.6 score. Both of these phones include Android OS (Operating System), but the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a newer 6.0 Marshmallow version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10 version. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 body is somewhat lighter and a little bit thinner than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, even though it was released 3 years before.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2's processing unit is very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 one, because although the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has 4 less cores , it also counts with a greater amount of RAM. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features a bit better display than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because it has a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2340, a quite greater quantity of pixels in each inch of display and a quite larger screen.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 counts with a very superior camera than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video quality, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a lot bigger back camera sensor capturing lot better quality pictures and videos, a much better 48 MP resolution back camera and a larger camera aperture to take better low light photos.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has much more memory capacity to install applications and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has just a little bit longer battery duration than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has a 2 percent more battery capacity.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, otherwise you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, giving up some features and specifications.
