Comparison review
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a global score of 75.8, which is a little bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's 74.6 general score. These devices include Android OS (operating system), but Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has Android 10 version, so it provides you a lot of extra features. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is an older cellphone than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, but Xiaomi managed to build it a little bit thinner and just a bit lighter anyway.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has a little bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a bit bigger display, a just a bit greater screen pixel density and a little bit higher 1080 x 2340 resolution. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a very superior memory to store more games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have an external memory card slot that supports up to 128 GB, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro also has 32 GB more internal memory.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has a bit better CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, they both have 8 cpu cores. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 shoots way better photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, a larger diafragm aperture for better low-light images and videos and a camera with lot more mega-pixels.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's battery performance is very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 one.
