Comparison review
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has an overall score of 76.6, which is just a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's score of 74.6. These phones come with the same Android 10 operating system, so you shouldn't notice any differences regarding that. Despite being the best cellphone in this review, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is an a little bit thicker and just a little heavier cellphone than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 features a processor that's very similar to the CPU in Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, both have the same number of cores and 3 GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features just a bit better looking screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a bit smaller screen, and they both have the same exact resolution of 1080 x 2340px, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also counts with a little bit better pixel density.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has a much bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have a SD card slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also has 32 GB more internal memory. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 captures slightly better videos and photos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have a F1.8 aperture, a same resolution camera in the back and a same size back-facing camera sensor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also has a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 features longer battery duration than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
Although Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is a better device, it costs more than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
