Comparison review
Xperia XZ3 is a little bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, with a overall score of 79.6 against 76.6. The Xperia XZ3 construction is a little lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, but it's somewhat thicker and was released around 19 months before. Both of these devices come with Android OS, but Xperia XZ3 has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has Android 10, so it gives a lot of extra features and performance optimizations.
Sony Xperia XZ3 counts with a bit better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also has more RAM memory. The Sony Xperia XZ3 features a sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a greater pixels density and a better 1440 x 2880 resolution.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 has a better storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also has an external memory slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 shoots a bit better videos and photos than Xperia XZ3, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also has a much more mega-pixels back facing camera, a larger back camera sensor capturing higher quality photographs and videos and a larger diafragm aperture for better images and videos in low-light situations.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a really longer battery life than Xperia XZ3, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ3, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, letting go some features and specifications.
