Comparison review
Galaxy S6 edge+ has a global score of 79.3, which is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1's overall score of 72.1. Galaxy S6 edge+ is a just a little bit thinner phone than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but both weight 5.4oz. These phones come with Android OS, but the Galaxy S6 edge+ has the older 5.1 version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version.
Galaxy S6 edge+ has a much better display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a quite bigger screen, a much better resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a lot better pixel quantity per display inch. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 counts with a much bigger memory for games and applications than Galaxy S6 edge+, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has a slot for external memory cards that holds up to 128 GB.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 counts with a little faster processing unit than Galaxy S6 edge+, and although they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also has a higher number of cores. Galaxy S6 edge+ shoots much clearer photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because it has a larger aperture, a more mega pixels camera and a much better (4K) video resolution.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a bit better battery performance than Galaxy S6 edge+, because it has 3080mAh of battery capacity.
Although Galaxy S6 edge+ is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Y1. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Galaxy S6 edge+, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, resigning a couple features and specs.
