The Xiaomi Mi 5s is a little bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, with a general score of 76.4 against 72.1. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is an older and just a bit thicker cellphone than the Xiaomi Redmi Y1, but Xiaomi was able to make it just a little lighter anyway. Both of these devices use Android OS (operating system), but Xiaomi Mi 5s has the previous 6.0 Marshmallow version while Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Android 7.0 Nougat version.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s counts with a much more vibrant display than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a much higher pixels number per inch of screen and a lot higher 1080 x 1920 resolution. Xiaomi Mi 5s features just a bit more storage capacity for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Y1, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with more internal memory capacity.
