Alcatel OneTouch POP Mega Review

Alcatel OneTouch POP Mega is a little bit outdated cellphone, with an enormous 6 inches multi touch screen, a great 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processing unit, an 8 MP back facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera.

Alcatel sells this phone with a great Quad-Core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, included in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8926 system chip with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little bit disappointing for such a good phone. Graphic intensive games and apps generally eats a lot of processor time, so this cellphone also has a 450 megahertz Adreno 305 GPU to take some work out of the CPU. The Alcatel OneTouch POP Mega counts with a 4 GB internal storage memory, a fair quantity that should be fine for the average user knowing that it also has an SD card slot to store pictures and videos.

Alcatel made an excellent job making this phone weight only 6.42 ounces. This phone has a beautiful design, with a thickness of just 0.34 inches. The Alcatel OneTouch POP Mega is only 6.39 inches long, but it's still able to fit a a 6" display.

Alcatel packed this device with a good 6-inches screen, and a 960 x 540 resolution, which makes everything look quite good. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This device offers WiFi connectivity (although it can't be provided to other devices acting as a wireless router or modem), 4G (LTE) fast connection type and 3G fast data connection, supported by HSPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.

This phone is equipped with two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back camera and a 2 MP front camera. This phone can also capture videos in Full HD 1920x1080. To complete the camera, it also features a lot of great characteristics like flash, face detection shooting, auto-focus, smile detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Mega packs a huge 3400 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that provides this phone a marvelous battery duration. An issue to evaluate is that this phone's battery is non-removable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to lose capacity, even though with such a huge battery size you will probably buy a new phone before that happens.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Mega also features a couple of nice characteristics as Bluetooth, GPS Navigation and FM Radio, and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

Alcatel offers this device for $ 249, which is not a really offer for a device this level. It doesn't matter whether you will use it majorly for social networks or need a cellphone to play tons of games, you will probably be very happy with it.
