Gionee Elife E5 Review

Score: 53.2 / 100

Gionee Elife E5 is a little outdated Android cellphone, packed with a high performance 1.5 GHz Quad-Core CPU, a 4.8-inches multi-touch capacitive screen, an 8 MP back-facing camera and a 5 mega-pixels front camera.

Gionee sells this device with a very fast Quad-Core processing unit clocking at 1500 MHz and only 1 GB RAM which is a bit disappointing for such a great device. A good advantage of this phone is the 16 GB quite big internal storage and though it doesn't have an external SD slot, it is enough to store a couple hundred apps, but it probably wouldn't be enough if you are planning to install some of the largest games currently available or taking tons of pictures and videos.

Gionee made this cellphone in three color options, black, yellow and white. The Gionee Elife E5 is quite a compact phone, taking into consideration it packs a 4.8 inches display and it's only 5.43" long. Being just 0.27 inches thick, this cellphone is very slim and practical. This phone is much lighter than what one would think about a cellphone like this.

The Gionee Elife E5 has two cameras, an 8 MP back facing camera and a 5 megapixels front-facing camera. This cellphone also shoots videos in 1920x1080 (Full HD). The camera also counts with some good features like auto-focus, flash and HDR mode.

The Gionee Elife E5 is equipped with a incredible 1280 x 720 (HD) 4.8" screen, which makes everything look amazing. Its screen uses Super AMOLED Plus capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This phone uses a medium capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that can keep it running for some hours, but you may need to charge it even after moderate usage. An important issue to consider is that the Gionee Elife E5's battery isn't replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to lose capacity, having to replace the whole phone or maybe take it to someone who can disassemble the phone and change its battery.

The Gionee Elife E5 has Wi-Fi connectivity (which can be provided to other devices around, acting as a router). This phone works with a Micro SIM card for GSM services.

This phone also includes some nice features like Bluetooth (4.0), GPS Geolocation and Radio, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

The Gionee Elife E5 is really overvalued considering it is priced $ 105, and other similar cellphones are sold for much less than that.
