HTC Rhyme is a decently made Android phone released some years ago, in 2011, packed with a 3.7" multi touch display, a powerful CPU ticking at 1 GHz, and 2 cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. Let's take a deeper look at what this phone can give us.
HTC equipped this phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 system chip, including a great performance processing unit clocking at 1000 megahertz and 768 MB RAM. Graphic rendering generally uses lots of processor time, so it also has a 245 MHz Adreno 205 GPU to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. This cellphone has a 4 GB internal memory, an average quantity that should be enough for the average user considering this cellphone also has an external SD slot to store photographs and videos and even some applications that allow external memory installation.
Apparently HTC decided not to care so much about the weight in this 4.77 oz cellphone. This phone's thickness of 0.43 inches is quite far from nowadays standards, but it still feels quite right in the hand.
The HTC Rhyme has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera. It also films videos in HD 1280x720. Additionally, the camera has flash and auto-focus.
This phone is equipped with a nice 800 x 480 3.7 inches screen, providing this phone with a very good graphical experience. This screen uses S-LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.
This cellphone features a good 1600 mAh Li-Ion battery that can keep this cellphone running for many hours, although you will probably need to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. HTC reports a talk time of 6.8 hours and a stand by time of 410 hours for this device.
The HTC Rhyme counts with wifi connectivity (and it can provide it to other devices around, acting as a wireless modem or router) and the fastest 3G connectivity, supported by HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. The HTC Rhyme works with a SIM card for GSM connection and it can work with both GSM and CDMA carriers.
The HTC Rhyme also features some nice characteristics like Bluetooth (3.0, EDR) and GPS Localization, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This phone is not a very good choice considering it is sold for $ 165, while many similar phones are being sold for much less than that.
