Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Review

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a wonderful cellphone released in April 2015, which counts with a pretty big 5.1 inches multi-touch screen, a high performance 64-bits Octa-Core processing unit (they are really a Quad-Core at 2.1 GHz and another Quad-Core speeding at 1500 MHz), a 16 megapixels back-facing camera and a 5 mega-pixels front side camera. That's all? Not at all, it's only the starting point of a detailed review.

Samsung decided to sell this cellphone with a Exynos 7 Octa 7420 chip, backed up by a great 64 bit Octa-Core CPU (composed by a Quad-Core at 2.1 GHz and another Quad-Core ticking at 1.5 gigahertz) and a great 3 GB of RAM memory. Graphic intensive applications often eats a lot of processing time, so this cellphone also uses a Mali-T760 MP8 GPU ticking at 650 MHz to help with that calculations. The S6 Edge comes with an excellent 128 GB internal storage memory and although it doesn't have an external memory slot, it it is more than enough to store hundreds of applications without having to worry about running out of space.

Samsung has made a very good job making this cellphone weight just 4.66 oz. This device is for sale in multiple colors like black, green, white and gold. Being just 0.28" thick,this phone is very thin and stilized. This device is quite a compact phone, taking into account that it presents a 5.1" display and it is just 5.59 inches long and 2.76 inches wide. Talking about its body materials, this cellphone is mostly built with Glass and Aluminium, which gives it a premium design and a better resistance.

This phone has two cameras, a 16 MP back camera and a 5 megapixels front camera. the S6 Edge's back camera has an aperture of f/1.9 so it can shoot sharp pictures even in poorly lit environments. This cellphone also shoots 4K 3840x2160 videos. The camera also includes multiple amazing characteristics like auto-focus, flash, fast burst mode, face detection shooting, optical image stabilization, smile detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

Samsung designed this device with a gorgeous 5.1" display, and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (Quad HD / 2K), giving this device a unique image quality. Its display uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This phone comes with a 2600 mAh huge non-replaceable battery providing this phone an amazing battery life. An issue to evaluate is that this device's battery is non-removable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to last shorter, though with this big battery you will probably replace this cellphone before it happens.

The S6 Edge includes WiFi capability (and it can share it with other devices acting as a wireless router or modem), 4G LTE-A super fast data connection and the fastest 3G internet connection, over HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The S6 Edge works with a Nano SIM card for GSM services.

This phone also includes lots of cool features such as Biometric fingerprint, Wireless charger compatibility, NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your cellphone close to another NFC device or tag), Infrared Transmitter, Bluetooth (4.1) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

This cellphone is not very cheap considering it is priced $ 2619, and many similar phones are being sold much cheaper than that. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is probably a very good choice for you if you want a device mostly for internet broswing and social networks, need a cellphone to play games, will use it for work or are an amateur photographer.
