Xolo Omega 5.0 Review

Xolo Omega 5.0 is a fair quality Android phone, which features a 5" multi-touch capacitive screen, a high performance 1.4 gigahertz Octa-Core processing unit, an 8 MP back facing camera and a 2 MP front side camera.

This cellphone is slim, although it's not close to being one of the thinnest phones currently available, with a thickness of 0.41 inches. The Xolo Omega 5.0 is a compact phone, given that it packs a 5 inches display and it only has 5.67" long. Tag Heuer made this cellphoneavailable only in black color.

The Xolo Omega 5.0 includes a very good 1280 x 720 (HD) 5 inches screen, giving this cellphone a good graphic quality. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

Tag Heuer sells the Xolo Omega 5.0 with an extremely powerful Octa-Core processing unit ticking at 1.4 GHz, packed into the MediaTek MT6592M chip with only 1 GB of RAM which is a bit poor for a cellphone of this quality. Graphic calculations often eats a lot of CPU cycles, so it has an extra 700 MHz ARM Mali-450 MP4 graphics processing unit to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. A good point of this cellphone is its quite big 8 GB internal storage and an SD memory slot, which allows you to install a couple hundred apps without worrying about space.

This phone has two cameras, an 8 megapixels back side camera and a 2 mega-pixels front side camera. The Xolo Omega 5.0 also captures 1920x1080 Full HD videos. This camera also counts with a lot of interesting features like auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

This phone counts with a 2100 mAh large replaceable battery providing this phone an average battery duration. Tag Heuer claims this phone has a stand by time of 675 hs and a talk time of 22 hs.

This phone counts with wifi connection (although it can't be shared with other devices around, acting as a wireless modem or router), HSPA+ 4G internet connection, that is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and 3G fast data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Xolo Omega 5.0 supports dual sim cards to be able to to use 2 different phone numbers and even different carriers at the same time.

This phone also comes with a few nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (4.0), GPS (Global Positioning System) and Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
