Xolo Q1020 Review

Score: 53.1 / 100

Xolo Q1020 is a mid-end Android phone, equipped with a very fast 1300 megahertz Quad-Core processing unit, a good size 5 inches multi touch screen, and two cameras, a 13 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front-facing camera.

Tag Heuer decided to build this cellphone using a MediaTek MT6582 system chip, packing an extremely powerful Quad-Core CPU clocking at 1.3 GHz with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little bit disappointing comparing with its great processing power. Graphic intensive apps and games usually consume lots of processing power, so the Xolo Q1020 also uses a 416 MHz ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU to help with that calculations. An interesting feature of the Xolo Q1020 is its quite large 8 GB internal memory and a slot for external memory cards, enough to store a couple hundred applications without running out of space.

This device is for sale in two colors, black and white. Whereas the Xolo Q1020 is only 5.63 inches long, it manages to contain a 5 inches display. This cellphone is just 0.34 inches thick, making its way into the thinnest devices podium.

Tag Heuer designed this cellphone with a nice 5-inches display, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD), giving this phone a very good image quality. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This phone features two cameras, a 13 megapixels back camera and a 2 MP front camera. It also shoots videos in Full HD 1920x1080. In addition, the camera counts with a few useful characteristics: auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

This cellphone includes WiFi connection (and it can provide it to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ 4G internet connection, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and the fastest 3G data connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Xolo Q1020 has dual sim to be able to to use two different phone lines and even different carriers in the same phone.

The Xolo Q1020 also features a couple of nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (4.0), GPS Navigation and FM Radio, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone uses a 2100 mAh big Li-Polymer removable battery that can keep this phone running for several hours, although you may need to charge it if you use it heavily. Tag Heuer afirms this cellphone has a 25.6 hs talk time and a 487 hs stand by time.
