Xolo Q500s IPS Review

Score: 47.8 / 100

Xolo Q500s IPS is a not so powerful Android cellphone, packed with a 4" screen, a high speed 1.3 gigahertz Quad-Core CPU, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. Let's take a closer look at what this device can give us.

Tag Heuer ships this phone with a MediaTek MT6582M chip, packing a great Quad-Core CPU speeding at 1300 MHz with only 512 MB RAM memory which is a little bit disappointing for such a great device. Graphic rendering generally uses lots of processor cycles, so it also has an extra 416 megahertz ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphic processing unit to help with that calculations. This cellphone counts with a 4 GB internal memory, a reasonable amount that should be enough for the average user having that it also has a slot for an SD memory card .

Tag Heuer offers this phone in many colors like black, green, blue, red and white. This phone is just 0.35" thick, making its way into the thinnest phones podium.

This phone has two cameras, a 5 MP back camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It is capable of shooting Full HD 1920x1080 videos. This camera also has lots of valuable features like flash, auto-focus, fast burst mode, smile detection shooting, face detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

The Xolo Q500s IPS is equipped with a good looking 800 x 480 4" screen, providing this phone with a good graphic quality. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

The Xolo Q500s IPS counts with Wi-Fi connection (but it can't share it with other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot), 4G HSPA+ data connection, that is not so fast as LTE networks and the fastest 3G internet connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device comes with 2 SIM cards so it is able to work with two different phone numbers and even different carriers.

This phone features a 1500 mAh medium capacity battery, which is quite low for a thirsty device like this. According to Tag Heuer, the Xolo Q500s IPS has an estimated 16.1 hours talk time and a 700 hs stand by time.

This phone also comes with a couple of useful features such as Bluetooth and GPS (Global Positioning System), and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
