ZTE Reef Review

ZTE Reef is a bit outdated Android cellphone, provisioned with a 5 MP back-facing camera, a great performance processing unit ticking at 1000 megahertz and a 4 inches multi touch screen. That's all? No, it's just the starting point of a detailed review.

ZTE ships the ZTE Reef with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 chip, including a powerful CPU clocking at 1000 megahertz and 1 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations often consume lots of processing power, so the ZTE Reef has an additional Adreno 205 graphic processing unit running at 245 megahertz to unload the processor. This phone comes with a medium 4 GB internal memory, which is quite good knowing that it also has a slot for an SD memory card .

This device isn't very light for a device this size, with a weight of 4.5 oz. Although the ZTE Reef is slim it's not so thin as many other phones in the market, with a thickness of 0.44".

The ZTE Reef includes a interesting 800 x 480 4 inches display, which makes everything look colorful and brightful. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

The ZTE Reef has Wi-Fi connection (although it can't share it with other devices acting as a router or modem). The ZTE Reef doesn't have a SIM card, because it doesn't work with GSM connections and it can connect to CDMA carriers.

This cellphone is only equipped with a 5 megapixels back facing camera. It is capable of shooting videos in HD 1280x720. In addition, the camera has a couple of good features: flash, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This phone comes with a 1650 mAh medium capacity replaceable battery providing this phone with a below average battery duration. ZTE informs a talk time of 9 hours and a stand by time of 163 hs for this cellphone.

This phone also features a handful of interesting characteristics such as Bluetooth and GPS, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

ZTE offers this device for $ 105, which is not a good offer for this kind of phone.
