The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 has a general score of 62.3, which is better than the Acer Iconia A1's overall score of 55.4. Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8's design is much thinner and noticeably lighter than Acer Iconia A1. Both devices in this review work with Android operating system, but the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 has the newer 4.4 version and Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1 version, providing the user a couple additional features.
Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 features a much better screen than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a bit bigger screen, a way better 1920 x 1200px resolution and much more pixels per display inch. The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 has a superior processing power than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a much better 700 megahertz graphics co-processor, 1 GB more RAM memory and more cores.
Acer Iconia A1 features a much better camera than Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8. Both have a back camera with a 5 MP resolution. The Acer Iconia A1 counts with a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8. Both have exactly the same internal storage. Acer Iconia A1 features better battery duration than Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8, because it has a 22 percent bigger battery size.
Although Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Acer Iconia A1. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy the Acer Iconia A1, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your money.
