The Asus VivoTab RT has a score of 61, which is better than Acer Iconia A1's 55.4 global score. The Asus VivoTab RT body is thinner than the Acer Iconia A1, but it's way heavier and was released around 12 months before. Asus VivoTab RT comes with Windows RT operating system, while Acer Iconia A1 has Android 4.1 operating system.
Asus VivoTab RT's processing unit is just as good as the Acer Iconia A1 one, because although the Asus VivoTab RT has doesn't have an extra GPU, and they both have the same number of cores, it also counts with a higher amount of RAM. The Acer Iconia A1 has a little sharper display than Asus VivoTab RT, because although it has a really smaller display and a quite lower 768 x 1024 resolution, it also counts with a bit greater number of pixels per inch in the display.
The Asus VivoTab RT features much more storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with more internal memory capacity. Asus VivoTab RT counts with a slightly better camera than Acer Iconia A1, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video definition, the Asus VivoTab RT also has a camera in the back with lot more mega-pixels.
The Acer Iconia A1 has a very superior battery duration than Asus VivoTab RT.
Although Asus VivoTab RT is a better device, it costs a lot more than Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Acer Iconia A1. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Asus VivoTab RT, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Acer Iconia A1, giving up some specs and features.
